By | employee engagement | No Comments

In my free ebook, Employee Engagement Doesn’t Have To Be a Mystery, I share seven facets of employee engagement and offer 55 turnkey and free action items you can implement to get started on building engagement.

The facets are feeling valued, connection to work, positive relationships, work environment, trust in leadership, opportunities to grow, and recognition. Below are some questions you can ask in your monthly one-on-one’s with your employees, all of which will get at one or more of these facets.

Don’t forget, though, if you ask, you have to act on the answers.

  1. What skills or talents do you have that you’d like to use more of?
  2. Are there any projects you’d really like to work on if you were given the opportunity?
  3. What type of support or assistance would help you do your job better?
  4. Do you have everything you need to do your job well?
  5. What’s one thing you did this month you’re proud of?
  6. How do you like to be recognized when you do something that should be acknowledged?
  7. What would make your job more fulfilling?
  8. What do you need from me that you’re not getting?
  9. What are your career goals? How can I help you achieve your career goals?
  10. What do you believe is hindering your career goals? What roadblocks need to be removed?
  11. What skill gaps might keep you from achieving your goals if we don’t attend to them?
  12. What is one area of development we could focus on that would allow you to perform more effectively?
  13. If you were the CEO, what’s one thing you would do differently?
  14. How can I be a better leader?
  15. What’s your biggest challenge right now? Is there anything I can do to help?
  16. What should I be doing to make myself a better leader or manager for you?
  17. What can we do to make you more successful?
  18. What’s one thing we should do to improve our product/service?
  19. What de-motivates you at work?

Employee engagement can be difficult to measure. Have you ever asked yourself just how many of the employees in your organization are really engaged?

A 2014 Gallup Poll found that only 31% of employees are involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to work and the workplace.

That’s a scary thought, considering employee engagement supercharges all aspects of company culture, finance, and customer loyalty.

So… How exactly does one increase engagement in the workplace? Fret no more, friend! My new e-book, Employee Engagement Doesn’t Have to Be A Mystery, provides 7 facets of engagement and 55 easy-to-implement action items to get started.

Here’s to getting the most out of employee engagement. Enjoy!
